In 1989, with the acquisition of Château Rollan de By, a small 2-hectare property in the northern Médoc, Jean Guyon embarked on the greatest challenge of his life: to produce wines that he wanted to be approachable and accessible. A challenge met! Nearly three decades later, his vineyard covers 185 hectares, and the acquisition of other châteaux has given rise to "Domaines Rollan de By – Jean Guyon," a name now synonymous with excellence.

Immersed in the art world from a young age, and an interior decorator by trade, Jean Guyon redesigned sumptuous homes and palaces around the globe. It was during a visit to the Médoc that he discovered the Terres de By and their exceptional terroir. A self-taught, passionate man, attentive to every detail, he embarked on winemaking with the simple ambition of creating enjoyable wines for his friends. This led him to create a "garage wine" (Château Haut Condissas) full of authenticity, individuality, and finesse; characteristics that are still found today throughout the entire range of Domaines Rollan de By wines.
